I joined the Electron Nanoscopy lab as a PhD candidate in September 2024. Intrigued by life at the molecular scale, I studied Nanobiology (BSc and MSc) in Delft and Rotterdam. During my studies, I became interested in electron microscopy and fluorescence microscopy. I was thrilled to find a PhD project combining biological research, cryo-tomography, and single-molecule fluorescence microscopy. Briefly, I will be pushing for single-molecule localization on a cryo-light microscopy-FIB-SEM, and using this to investigate the cell-autonomous bacterial defense. My project is a collaboration between Arjen’s group and the group of Jacob Hoogenboom.
In my free time, I like to exercise (swimming, yoga, and running), read, and bake.
