Shaheer Khalil

PhD student at the Departments of Bionanoscience and Precision & Microsystems Engineering
I am a joint PhD candidate in the Precision and Microsystems Engineering and Bionanoscience departments. Before joining TU Delft, I studied mechanical engineering in South Korea, where I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. I later worked in R&D on electrohydrodynamic printing and precision deposition technologies.
My PhD research focuses on developing methods for the targeted extraction, transfer, and deposition of intracellular material for cryo-electron microscopy. I am particularly interested in combining micro- and nano-fluidics, electro-hydrodynamics, and precision engineering to improve how biological samples are prepared and handled at very small scales.
Outside research, I enjoy travelling, playing football, and exploring new places.
